Location: Sacramento, California

Job Description: Supervisors oversee the work of Leads and Worksite Organizers working in an area of approximately 15,000 members within Local 1000 which has 90,000 members working for the state of California.  Leads and Worksite Organizers work with rank and file leaders to active the membership to resolve workplace issues, build power and strengthen the union.
 
Qualifications:  

Experience representing and organizing workers including contract negotiations and enforcement and mobilizing and educating members.  Public sector experience desirable but not required.  Experience supervising or leading other union staff.  Commitment to member empowerment, union democracy and revitalizing the labor movement. Desire and willingness to be part of the movement taking on governor "Arnold".

Salary and Benefits:  

$70-$80,000 depending on experience, excellent benefits
