HKS Internal Funding Opportunities

Dean's Research Fund

Managed by the RAO, the Dean's Research Fund (DRF) provides seed funding mainly to junior faculty. Eligible expenses include: research assistant time, data acquisition, and field research travel support.

Applications should be brief (2-3 pages), detail the proposed research, and describe the expected contribution of this funding to the PI's longer-term research agenda. A detailed budget is also required.

Other HKS Internal Faculty Research Funding Opportunities

The Research Administration Office has compiled a wide range of internal HKS grant programs into a single At-A-Glance FY2010 table (pdf). For each relevant funding opportunity, information is provided on research project priority areas of interest, application deadlines, investigator eligibility, allowable budget items, required deliverables at the end of a grant period, and relevant Center or Program administrative contact information for additional details.  In some cases, these funding opportunities are open to HKS faculty members only; in other cases, faculty and senior researchers across the University may be eligible to apply.

This resource will be updated throughout the year as needed.  We encourage you to follow-up directly with the named contact person if you see a particular internal grant opportunity that might fit your research support needs.
