Film Screenings: “HUMAN TRAFFICKING”

Academy Award and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Mira Sorvino, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor Donald Sutherland and BAFTA Award winning actor Robert Carlyle star in the LIFETIME original film “Human Trafficking” a chilling portrayal of today’s global sex slave trade and the desperate fight to save its countless victims.  The film unfolds through the stories of a rookie Department of Homeland Security ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agent on the trail of the deadly criminal kingpin, two Eastern European women forced into sex slavery and trafficked into United Sates against their will and the horrifying ordeal of an American teenage girl kidnapped off the street of Manila for sale into sex slavery.  Human Trafficking is a film produced by For Sale Productions, Inc for Lifetime Television. Executive Producer is Robert Halmi; Sr. Christian Duguay directs from teleplay by Carol Doyle and Agatha Dominik. Story by Carol Doyle.

Victoria Budson, “Real Women, Real Situations: What to Say When the Going Gets Tough”

Victoria A. Budson MPA ’02 is the Executive Director of the Women and Public Policy Program.  This hands-on interactive workshop will address real life situations such as how to handle the use of code words alluding to gender; the double standard regarding displaying emotion; how to define your image as it relates to family before someone defines it for you; and how to approach difficult conversations regarding gender in the workplace.  Co-sponsored by the Communications Program.
