
The
Dubai Initiative and the Women and Public Policy Program of Harvard Kennedy
School are pleased to announce a
residential fellowship in the area of gender and policy in the Middle East.
The fellowship will be awarded to a pre- or postdoctoral scholar conducting
research with a particular focus on gender and the Middle East
in any of the following areas: evolving issues of governance; U.S.
foreign
policy; security studies; economic policy; energy policy; innovations
in governance; e-government; and government performance.
Responsibilities:
The Dubai Initiative/WAPPP Fellow will be expected to participate
actively in the intellectual life of the Dubai Initiative and
the Women and
Public Policy Program, taking part in seminars relevant to their
interests and presenting papers.
Research
fellows will also be expected to complete a book, monograph, scholarly
article or other significant publication during their period
of residence.
Stipend:
The stipend for the 2010-2011 academic year postdoctoral fellowship
will be up to $34,000. Residential fellowships may also provide for individual
health insurance and institutional support.
Applications:
Applicants for the Dubai Initiative/Women and Public Policy Program
Fellowship should submit one complete copy of the items

cover letter with current e-mail address and home address.

current curriculum vitae (including publications).

1500-word description of the proposed research project, and a statement
indicating
the need for postdoctoral
support. This proposal
should include the background, nature,
importance, specific objectives, and methodology of the
proposed research.

One
unbound sample of writing. If possible, these should be pertinent
to the application.

Three letters of recommendation.

Please
also indicate whether we may forward your application to other
programs
who we think may be interested
in your work.
Selection Process:
Applications must be received by the Program no later than January 31, 2010 for a fellowship beginning the following September.
Awards will be announced in April.
While being considered for a Dubai Initiative/Women and Public Policy
Program, you may be informed that you have received another fellowship.
