Dr. Abdulkareem Sultan Al Olama is the Chief Executive Officer of The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI). The MBRGI is the largest regional foundation in terms of the number of institutional initiatives that lead wide-reaching programmes and projects on a global scale. He raised in 2023 & 2024 alone AED 2.7 Billion for MBRGI. He established the 1 Billion Meal Endowment and the Mother Endowment for Education under MBRGI. He launched the UAE food innovation hub in collaboration with the World Economic Forum. He is presently collaborating with UN agencies—WHO, WFP, and UNICEF—to establish a groundbreaking date factory in Dubai aimed at bolstering international humanitarian feeding programs. Additionally, this facility will contribute to the support of local farmers, fostering the growth of the UAE's green cover. Prior to that he was CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, an NGO that aims to promote the UAE as a centre of excellence in the field of medical education and research. He commissioned the opening of Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, established the Mohammed Bin Rashid Medical Research Institute and was the Founding CEO of Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Charity Hospital. He established and funded the Dubai Robotic Biobank, the first of its kind biobank in the region. To date, Dr Al Olama has raised over AED 1.6 billion for healthcare projects and life-transforming programs. Al Jalila Foundation gave more than 100 research grants to scientists and more than 100 scholarships. He is a serial entrepreneur who has established numerous profitable businesses in the UAE. He enjoys traveling, networking, and is a skilled negotiator. Passionate about making the world a better place, he aims to disrupt the current foundation and NGO model, advocating for greater innovation to address the growing challenges and crises that exceed traditional NGOs' capacities and capabilities. A graduate from Harvard Medical School, and from the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development Program.
