Alissa Ji is interested in housing and urban issues. She aspires to collaborate across public and private sectors to increase access to affordable housing and create more sustainable, equitable cities. As Chief of Staff at the Community Economic Defense Project, a homelessness prevention and anti-poverty nonprofit, Alissa led the design and development of new financial stability services. She supported operations and advocacy efforts to provide emergency rental assistance and supportive services to stabilize households facing housing insecurity. Previously, Alissa worked in management consulting for Bain & Company in New York. She has published public health research on culturally competent healthcare and on trust in leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic. She graduated from Yale University with a degree in Statistics & Data Science and Economics, where she studied social science research methods and played on the women’s club ultimate frisbee team. Alissa is pursuing a joint MPP/MBA with the Stanford Graduate School of Business. After graduation, she aims to scale innovative housing programs and foster people-centered teams. She currently serves on the Junior Board for CAMBA, supporting their mission to provide supportive housing and social services in New York. Originally from the Atlanta suburbs, Alissa enjoys hiking, live music, gabbing with her friends, and losing at trivia.
