Anna Livia Arida is a Program Assistant at the Carr-Ryan Center for Human Rights. She is a Brazilian lawyer and has a master's in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
Anna Livia has served as Associate Director of Human Rights Watch Brazil office between 2020 and early 2024. Before that, she worked for various civil society organizations as a researcher on police violence, business and human rights, and children's rights. She worked for 3 years with the impact assessment of socio-environmental projects and was the founder and director of an organization in São Paulo focused on improving public policies at the city level and fostering civic engagement. She teaches advocacy strategy and planning at the Advocacy Hub.
She will be working with the Global LGBTQI+ Human Rights Program and the Human Rights and Foreign Policy Program.
