Anne Witt is Professor of Law at EDHEC Business School (EDHEC Augmented Law Institute) in France. She is specialised in European competition law, with a particular focus on digital markets and emerging technologies. She has published extensively on current issues of competition law and policy in leading international journals and is the author of a monograph entitled The More Economic Approach to EU Antitrust Law (2016), which explores the evolving role of economics in the interpretation and application of EU competition law. She is a regular speaker at international conferences, a European Commission NGA within the International Competition Network, and contributes to several judicial training programmes as an expert trainer in EU competition law.
Anne is currently on sabbatical leave from EDHEC to write a book entitled Global Titans and Conflicting Sovereigns: Protecting Competition in Digital Platform Markets, forthcoming with Cambridge University Press. The research project, which explores and critically compares the EU and US approaches to protecting competition in digital platform markets, is funded by a Fulbright Schuman Scholars Grant.
Anne began her academic career in the United Kingdom before relocating to France following Brexit. She was previously a visiting fellow at the European University Institute, Florence and an Emile Noël fellow at NYU Law School. Prior to her legal education, Anne graduated from the Geneva Conservatory of Music (piano). She remains passionate about piano and chamber music.
