Brady Hanshaw
LGBTQI+ Leadership Fellow

Brady Hanshaw (he/him) is a third-year M.D. candidate at Harvard Medical School from West Virginia. Brady is passionate about alleviating mental health inequities among LGBTQ+ communities through advocacy and community-driven research. 

During the summer 2026 LGBTQI+ Leadership Fellowship, Brady will complete an immersive clinical and research internship with the Muses Program for Minoritized Youth at the University of California, San Francisco under the mentorship of Dr. Chase Anderson. The Muses Program is an innovative psychiatric initiative addressing the mental health effects of minority stress among LGBTQ+ and other marginalized youth. Clinically, he will help care for adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidality, and trauma related to stigma and discrimination. Concurrently, Brady will assist in designing and piloting a novel group therapy intervention targeting minority stress, using structured modules to promote identity affirmation, resilience, and adaptive coping.
