Charitra S. Pabbaraju is a PhD student in Political Science based at the University of California, Berkeley, researching the intersection of gender, technology, and violence. Her current work examines how digital reforms in policing and surveillance shape women’s relationships with the state. Prior to Berkeley, she completed an MPhil in Development Studies at the University of Oxford. She previously worked in the development sector for the Carter Center, the United States Agency for International Development, and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, studying how technology can improve women’s access to information, safety, and justice.
