Dean is a native of New York City and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011 with a degree in international studies. After graduating from Wisconsin, Dean entered the Navy through Officer Candidate School and spent six years in the military leading cross-functional special operations teams across the globe. After leaving the military in 2019, Dean spent two years working in finance at Blackstone as a member of the growth equity investment team, focusing specifically on companies in the consumer and healthcare spaces. While at Blackstone, Dean helped expand the firm’s military internship program. He enjoys connecting with other service-oriented individuals who share his passion for leading teams and emphasizing the power of public service to adolescents and young adults. In his free time, Dean enjoys motorcycle riding, trail running and exploring national parks.
