Hector Moncada is an MBA candidate at MIT Sloan and a Master’s in Public Administration student at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). Originating from Chandler, Arizona, Hector's journey began in the U.S. Army, graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He further enhanced his academic credentials with an M.S. in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology. With over a decade of military service, Hector has led diverse teams in various high-stakes environments, including humanitarian and combat deployments across Liberia, Afghanistan, and Eastern Europe. His experiences have cultivated a deep understanding of leadership, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making, which he applied effectively during his recent internship at ThermoFisher Scientific. Here, Hector integrated his engineering expertise and leadership skills to improve processes within the pharma and life sciences sectors, showcasing his ability to bridge technology and management. At HKS, Hector aims to specialize at the intersection of Finance, Data Analytics, and Government to develop innovative solutions for public policy challenges. His career goal is to transform federal processes and programs, enhancing efficiency and accountability in the government sector. He is passionate about making systemic changes that ensure effective use of resources, advocating for streamlined operations.
