Joan Martínez is a PhD candidate in Economics at UC Berkeley. She works on topics in labor, discrimination, education economics, and applied econometrics. She received her MSc degree in Economics at University College London and her BA at Universidad del Pacífico in Peru. She received a Chevening Fellowship Award from the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) in the United Kingdom. Before her doctoral studies, she worked as a research assistant at Universidad del Pacífico and as an evaluation specialist at the Ministry of Economics and Finance.
