Josh Sandler is the Chairman and co-founder of Lori, a tech-driven logistics services company that seamlessly coordinates haulage across Africa to bring down the cost of goods. With operations across sub-Saharan Africa, Lori has optimized the movement of billions of dollars of cargo across the continent and has grown to become one of the largest technology platforms in Africa. It was recognized as the fastest-growing startup in Africa and was the Winner of TechCrunch Battlefield Africa. Its investors include DST, Hillhouse, Google and other leading venture capital firms. As a South African native, Josh always imagined making his mark on Emerging Markets as an entrepreneur. While earning his MBA and a MPA/ID at Harvard, Josh worked closely with East African governments on trade policy, and ultimately wrote his dissertation on the impact of logistics costs on the competitiveness of goods across the region. This led to the build out of Lori. Prior to graduate school, Josh worked in Investment Banking and Private Equity in New York and Chicago. He remains an active tech investor across Africa. Josh has been recognized as an Obama Foundation Africa Fellow, a World Economic Forum Tech Pioneer, an Endeavor Entrepreneur and an Alter Global Entrepreneur. While at Harvard, Josh was a Rubenstein Fellow and a George Fellow. He serves as an Advisor at Concordia and at technology startups across the African continent.
