Justin was born and raised in Southern California. After graduating from West Point in 2013 with a degree in History, he commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the US Army and served in the 101st Airborne Division. He then earned his Green Beret and led a Special Forces team in 5th Special Forces Group. He deployed to the Middle East several times supporting Counter-ISIS operations. Since transitioning from Active Duty after over nine years of service, he recently completed his MBA at MIT Sloan where he concentrated in finance and is pursuing his MPA at HKS. He recently co-founded a climatetech startup focused on point-of-need water treatment and recycling solutions for DoD, disaster relief, and commercial applications. He’s passionate about finding and building private solutions to solve prolific public problems and believes water is an increasingly vulnerable resource. When he’s not working on his startup, he enjoys spending time with his wife and toddler, as well as their two giant newfoundland dogs.
