
Karen Sharma is a Managing Partner at MacDougall Advisors with over 20 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, branding and public affairs. As the leader of MacDougall's corporate communications practice, Karen’s role is to provide senior counsel to public and private healthcare, digital health and biotech clients. Her areas of expertise include corporate branding and positioning, media strategy, issues management, public relations, marketing, crisis communications and patient advocacy. With a background in public affairs and politics, Karen enjoys helping companies navigate the halls of Congress and the murky public policy process. She is a digital health mentor with MassBio’s MassConnect program and has been actively involved in politics across Massachusetts for over two decades. Prior to joining MacDougall, Karen developed communications and public affairs strategies for a wide range of healthcare and technology companies at Schwartz Communications and Newgrange Consulting. Karen was also a deputy treasurer and the head of communications for the Massachusetts State Treasury. She has a Bachelor's degree in psychology from West Chester University and studied at the New School in New York City.
