Kartik Sahni is a Research Fellow at Harvard's Center for International Development, working with the Reimagining the Economy Project's Global Economic Transformation Initiative. He leads the scoping and development of the Initiative's Innovation and R&D Policy vertical, examining how R&D and innovation ecosystems shape economic development across the Global South. His research focuses on the links between innovation systems and workforce development, the role of universities in research production, and the channels through which research translates into commercial and industrial application.
Kartik brings deep expertise in India's public R&D architecture, grounded in prior work with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, where he supported the design of policy architecture, capital mobilization strategy, and launch planning for India's Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). His broader research interests include catalytic financing models and public-private partnerships for deploying climate and frontier technologies in emerging markets.
Kartik is a joint MBA/MPP graduate of Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School.
