The internship with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, focuses on the prevention and care strategy of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). In 2023, CHAI started supporting the Cambodia Ministry of Health with a radical scale-up in the provision of screening and care for NCDs such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and eye health conditions in primary healthcare centers throughout the country, which is a top priority for the Ministry of Health. In this sense, the Summer Associate will contribute to developing an "investment case" for NCD prevention and care services, support the assessment of health facilities in one "innovation" province, create a case studies series aimed at an international audience, and conduct a mapping of global recommendations for national policy and programs for tackling NCDs.
