Laura Medina is passionate about social justice, worker equity and worker voice, organizational capacity building and development, and building partnerships to advance opportunities for marginalized communities. Laura has worked in the non-profit sector for 16 years. She was a key leader in the design of a labor-management organization with the Service Employees International Union - United Service Workers West. There, Laura created partnerships that resulted in the investment of a predominantly Latino immigrant workforce in the property service industry. More recently, she held a leadership position at the Alliance for a Better Community, an organization that focuses on Latino advocacy issues in Los Angeles, CA. Laura earned a BA in Political Science and French Studies from Smith College. Further, she was a Fulbright Fellow to France. She hopes to leave the Harvard Kennedy School equipped to become a leader at the forefront of building healthy and thriving communities.
