She served as a trustee of the Benjamin School in Palm Beach and for eleven years as a director and executive committee member of the Hobe Sound Community Chest. She focused on developing district-wide reading initiatives and creating and funding mentorship opportunities for local students.
Laurie is a graduate of Wellesley College and the Harvard Business School. Stemming from her family’s multi-generational leadership in both higher education and international diplomacy, she intensely appreciates the imperative of training young students to become inspired, committed and ethical leaders who will improve public institutions and governments and make the world a better place. Laurie strongly believes in supporting the Center for Public Leadership as a critically important platform and prime driver for success in this effort.
