Dr. Maisha Grant is the CPL Program Director and has worked in higher education as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard Graduate School of Education and Adjunct Faculty at Lesley University. A career educator for over 23 years, Maisha has also served in the American PK-12 education sector as a National Board Certified Teacher, South Carolina Teacher of the Year Nominee, and school principal. With a strong track record of successful school transformation, Maisha collaborates with experts across various fields to research, develop, and teach courses in curriculum, instruction, leadership, and policy. She has published peer-reviewed literature and contributed to scholarly publications, including "Stories of Caring School Leadership” and “Caring in Crisis: Stories to Inspire and Guide School Leaders." Dr Grant has been featured in “The Dash Podcast” and received national recognition for her story "Speak Life" by Corwin Press in 2021.

Passionate about transformational leadership through social innovation, Maisha works tirelessly to convert corridors of shame into oases of opportunity for marginalized communities. She dedicates much of her free time serving in churches across the east coast as a Minister of Music and supporting community-based nonprofits as an educational consultant. She holds four degrees with high honors in educational leadership from Winthrop, Vanderbilt, and Harvard Universities. Maisha loves rollerblading, composing music, writing, and blending these hobbies as a playwright, published author of three books, and producer of numerous multimedia projects ranging from stage plays to educational interactive DVD series. A proud mother of four children ages 12-21, Dr. Maisha Grant leverages her life experiences to engage communities and inspire change.
