M. Alejandra Parra-Orlandoni is a product strategist and service designer who tackles challenges at the intersection of technology, teams, and society. She is currently Chief Operations Officer at Pasteur Labs, a simulation intelligence company, and runs Spirare Tech, a boutique leadership & responsible tech consultancy. Prior to that, Alejandra was Vice President, Ethical Innovation & Privacy at a global pharmaceutical company. She also led a think tank at Meta focused on AR/VR, privacy enhancing technologies, and digital identity. In addition, she developed responsible AI products and services at QuantumBlack (AI by McKinsey) and helped launch the firm's inaugural open source project. Alejandra has previous experience as an engineer, Naval officer, and attorney and holds degrees from MIT, Harvard Law, and the US Naval Academy. She advises startups and also writes and speaks publicly about leadership in tech and women in the workplace. As an M-RCBG Senior Fellow, Alejandra will develop a new ontological framework for AI policy that helps government and business better define and align on policy goals while accounting for AI's sociotechnical nature. Her faculty supervisor is Dan Levy, HKS Senior Lecturer in Public Policy.
