Mary Green Swig founded and runs an internationally recognized, award-winning design firm, Mary Green Enterprises, which produces intimate apparel of the finest natural fibers, especially silk, all manufactured in China. Grounded in sustainable business practices and seeking the best in human values, Green Swig has employed workers and factories in China and has significantly raised their standards of living. As an author she has written How to Be an Importer and Pay for Your World Travel, a pioneering guide to importing. Green Swig serves on the board of organizations whose roles are the betterment of society, humanity, and the environment. At Solar Electric Light Fund, she has helped to bring energy to rural communities off the grid. At Americans for Cures Foundation, she is helping to implement the work of the pioneering stem cell research agency of the state of California. At Presidio World College, she oversees an MBA program in sustainable management. As a member of the Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World, Green Swig has taken major positions for women’s rights. She has been active in numerous political campaigns and is recognized in Speaker Pelosi’s Committee of 100. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with honors in political science, and her tireless energy and great problem-solving capabilities have helped to better the world.
