Nupur Jain is a rising fourth-year medical student at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and an aspiring Obstetrician-Gynecologist. She is passionate about racial health disparities, reproductive justice, and improving access to care for all. She graduated with Honors in Health Policy and Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her undergraduate career, Nupur was part of the Executive Student Government that launched “Pride Place,” a gender-inclusive housing program, a place where all students can feel welcome and safe on campus. For two years, she then served as a MedServe AmeriCorps Fellow in rural Western North Carolina, where she led a support group for pregnant and postpartum patients in recovery from opioid use disorder. While in medical school, she has provided care to laboring patients as a birth doula, represented her student body as an American Medical Association school delegate, and been a board member of the student-run free clinic.
