Oliver Hauser is Professor of Economics at the University of Exeter, where he is also Deputy Director (and formerly interim Co-Director) of the Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He is a Faculty Affiliate of the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School. He is also a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow, a Senior Advisor to Cabinet Office’s and HM Treasury’s Evaluation Task Force, and serves on several advisory boards in the UK public sector.

As a faculty affiliate of the Centre for Leadership at the University of Exeter Business School, Professor Hauser advises and works with a wide range of leaders and organisations: He is the academic advisor to behavioural science consultancy MoreThanNow, an academic associate of the Behavioural Insights Team (“Nudge Unit”), an advisory board member of MeVitae, and an affiliate at the Vienna Center for Experimental Economics at the University of Vienna and an Invited Researcher at J-PAL North America.

Professor Hauser has held prestigious fellowships at the Alan Turing Institute, the Harvard Behavioral Insights Group and Harvard Women and Public Policy Program. He earned his Ph.D. in Biology from Harvard University and B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Innsbruck.
