Becca Mak will intern at the World Health Organization (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO) Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Unit’s Data, Strategy and Innovation (DSI) Group in Manila, Philippines. As a UHC Country Technical Assistance Intern, she is supporting WPRO Member States in attaining universal coverage of health services for better, more equitable health outcomes. Her team’s cross-cutting policy advice and technical assistance are geared towards health system transformation, developing and implementing national health strategies and UHC roadmaps based on the country's health priorities, available resources, and local context. Most of the WPRO countries are low- and middle-income countries that experience high maternal and child mortality, so maternal and child health are central to their health priorities and progress towards UHC.
