Rodrigo was a Master in Public Administration in International Development Candidate. He was invited to join Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator* during the Summer 2022 to support in the implementation of the Gender Equity and Social Inclusion strategy (GESI). GESI is an intentional strategy and set of interventions that seek to enable greater access to economic opportunities for those who experience higher barriers to entry based on factors such as economic circumstance, gender, disability, race, and sexual orientation amongst others. GESI aims to create awareness that the life experiences of people are not the same and that in situations where a specific group are prevented access, additional support may be required to enable inclusion. *Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator is South African not-for-profit social enterprise building solutions for the global challenge of youth unemployment. We work in South Africa with partners who are committed to results that can work at scale – including government, the private sector, civil society, with a network of over 2 million youth.
