Sreela Srinivasan (MPP ‘25) will intern at UNESCO IN Paris, France. During the internship, Sreela will be working under UNESCO’s Chief Information and Technology Officer, Mr. Omar Baig, within the Digital Business Solutions division. UNESCO’s commitment to ethical AI was solidified when the Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence was adopted by acclamation by 193 Member States at the General Conference in November 2021. This landmark decision paved the way for the creation of a comprehensive international framework for the development and responsible use of AI technologies. In this context, Sreela’s role will involve a deep dive into the analysis of AI advancements and their impact on various developmental priorities. Given that gender equality is a global priority for UNESCO, Sreela’s primary focus will be on the intersection of AI and gender equality.
