Tracy L. Dumas, Ph.D. is a Professor of Management and Human Resources at the Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, where she teaches the MBA Negotiations course. She is a two time-recipient of the Fisher College Pace Setters Award, the highest college honor, for her research and teaching. Also, in 2023 and 2025, the graduating classes of full-time and working professional MBA students, respectively, voted her the Outstanding Elective Professor. Dumas earned her PhD in Management and Organizations from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management where she also received an award for distinction in teaching while a doctoral student.
Dumas’ research examines the connection between employees’ work experiences and their nonwork roles and identities, and is published in top academic journals as well as practitioner outlets including Harvard Business Review. Additionally, several media outlets have profiled her work including Forbes.com, Fast Company, and Harvard Business Review Women at Work podcast.
Prior to entering academia, Dumas managed client projects for a Chicago-based consulting and research firm. Outside of work, Dumas indulges her artistic side by playing the piano, taking dance classes, or dancing in local productions.
