Ying Xin is the CEO of Xiaowusheng, a platform that provides gender-affirming mental health counseling. Previously, Xin served as the director of the Beijing LGBT Center, which was the foremost community-based grassroots organization dedicated to serving the diverse needs of China’s LGBTQ community. In her decade-long tenure, the Beijing LGBT Center built large first-of-their-kind networks of allied professionals in the health, business, and legal sectors to promote inclusion of and provide services to LGBT people; conducted pioneering research on LGBT issues in conjunction with Peking University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the United Nations Development Program; and advocated for the full depathologization of LGBTQ people, greater access to gender-affirming care, and equal employment rights. Xin has a master degree and bachelor degree in public administration. Xin hopes to advocate for public health policies in China that are more inclusive and affirmative of underprivileged groups such as sexual and gender minorities, women, and people with disabilities.
