With the 2024 Presidential Election just around the corner, campus is buzzing with activity surrounding this consequential event. Several HKS-affiliated research centers and initiatives will be hosting events on Election Day and the days that follow to discuss the the impact of the results.
Although most of these are events are open only to the Harvard community, we hope this list shows you the breath of engagement happening across campus.
Election-related Events on the HKS Campus
Election Night in the JFK Jr. Forum
Starting at 7 p.m. on Election Night, the JFK Jr. Forum will feature a rotating panel of experts from across the ideological spectrum sharing their insights before the polls close. Watch the livestream on the IOP YouTube channel.
Debriefing the United States Election
Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation faculty Danielle Allen, Archon Fung, and Alex Keyssar will discuss the election results on November 6.
Post-Election: What Happened and What Comes Next?
Once Election Day is behind us, a panel of experts will come together on November 7 to take a look back at what happened, what we know so far, and where we go next. This event will be livestreamed on the IOP YouTube channel.
Democracy 2024 Series
Community members will have the opportunity to participate in a weekly series reflecting on the U.S. election and its implications for democracy in the United States and the world. These faculty-led conversations will give HKS community members an opportunity to debrief and express their feelings surrounding the election and its broader impacts. The series will cover various topics, including: The Day After, Global Implications, Implications for U.S. Democracy, and The Election and the Media.
Post-Election Community Care & Coffee
Throughout November, the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (ODIB) will host coffee chats for students, faculty, and staff to decompress, take mindful breaks from election coverage, enjoy refreshments, and connect with colleagues in a relaxed setting.

The Three Super Cycle Elections (U.S., India, Indonesia) & Implications for ASEAN panel will bring together experts to discuss potential impacts on trade and investment, macroeconomic and fiscal policies, geopolitical alignments, national and regional security, and decarbonization strategies, providing insights into how ASEAN might best navigate this evolving global landscape.
