Our Admissions & Financial Aid team hosts virtual and in-person events every year to meet prospective master’s degree students. Wondering where we’ll be this fall? Read below to learn more about where we are going and check out the full list of locations on the Admissions Events page.
The South
Associate Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Brianna Gomez
Brianna Gomez is traveling to Tennessee and Mississippi, stopping at local graduate fairs and coffee shops to provide information about HKS. After reading Public Policy Leadership Conference applications this summer, she was struck by the talent, vision, and commitment to community reflected in applications from students in Mississippi.
“I want to meet these future leaders in person to share more about the opportunities offered at Harvard Kennedy School.”
Assistant Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Leigh McLaren
Leigh McLaren is focusing her recruitment efforts in South Carolina. She’ll be speaking with prospective students at graduate school fairs and hosting an informal coffee chat to talk about our master’s degree programs, admissions procedures, funding opportunities, and student life.
“I’m looking forward to visiting universities in the Charleston area and speaking with students from varying backgrounds.”
Assistant Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Ruibi Wang
Ruibi Wang—who traveled to Florida last year—will be returning to continue to build strong connections with prospective students, learn about their backgrounds, and encourage them to apply.
“Florida offers a uniquely dynamic pool of prospective students, and we greatly value the wide range of perspectives and experiences they bring to our community.”
The West
Senior Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Rosemary Hilliard
Rosemary Hilliard hopes to network with prospective students in New Mexico, specifically by talking about the American Service Fellowship, attending a graduate and professional college fair at the University of New Mexico, and hosting an information session at the Albuquerque Public Library.
“In my travels this fall, I’m visiting states and areas of the country that have been historically underrepresented at HKS.”
Assistant Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Rodrigue Lembvem
Rodrigue Lembvem will be hosting various coffee chats and visiting colleges in Utah to connect with prospective students and share information about HKS master’s degree programs—all while learning more about the goals and experiences of applicants from the region.
“This trip is part of our broader effort to bring voices from across the country into our classrooms.”
The Midwest
Assistant Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Katie Kelsall
Katie Kelsall will visit Kentucky, Illinois, and Wisconsin to reach a segment of the United States the team hasn’t visited often. Over the summer, Katie attended the National Conference of State Legislatures and met representatives from Kentucky who inspired her to continue making connections with other public servants in and around middle America.
“I’m looking forward to learning more about prospective students’ goals and aspirations, especially those who are passionate about public service and leadership.”
On-Campus and Virtual Programming
Senior Coordinator of Admissions & Financial Aid Gareth Jones
Gareth coordinates a wide variety of virtual offerings, allowing applicants to connect with the team regardless of where they are in the world. In addition to robust virtual programming, he has planned a variety of opportunities—including Open House events and campus visits—for prospective applicants to come to campus and get a feel for what it is like to be part of the HKS community.
“Whether you are hoping to learn more about one of our master’s degree programs or research centers, or to hear about our application process directly from the Admissions team, we will have a session for you.”
