We invite the HKS alumni community to vote for up to 8 of 12 candidates to join the Board. During this time, candidates may network and campaign for themselves among their peers. Once the voting period closes, the 8 candidates with the highest number of votes will serve as new Board members, whose four-year terms will begin July 1, 2024. Bio: Dr. Ije Akunyili is an Emergency physician and Chief Medical Officer at RWJBarnabas, Jersey City Medical Center where she is responsible for equitable health care delivery and enterprise management. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor at Rutgers. Ije is passionate about creating world class health care outcomes and policies. In addition to her MPA/ID degree from HKS she holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a medical degree from the University of Maryland. Ije is a proud mother of two teenagers and an amateur pianist.

Statement of Interest: I am a passionate healthcare policy advocate and physician who is dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes for vulnerable populations. My experience at HKS, as a young woman born in Eastern Nigeria, was transformative. I can expand the global impact of our alumni group through mentorship and alumni educational engagement.

Bio: Alen is a Project Leader at BCG and is the volunteer executive director of WiderNet. At BCG, he leads projects in the firm’s federal government practice, and WiderNet provides offline information access to millions who lack reliable internet. Before HKS, he served as a math teacher & vice principal in Arkansas. Alen graduated with an MPA from HKS, where he was a dual degree MBA student at Dartmouth. He serves on the HKS Anniversary Committee, has mentored HKS students on Mentorly, and is a member of the CPL Alumni Council.

Statement of Interest: HKS provided me with a transformative academic and personal experience. I have enjoyed helping plan the five-year anniversary, mentoring current students, and serving on the CPL Alumni Council. I want to support the Alumni Board’s important role in helping create an equally transformative alumni experience for all.

Bio: Currently on Alumni Board with the energy, time, desire to do more! I am also on Board of HKS Taubman Center for State and Local Government and participate in HKS DC and HKS State and Local Government SIG events. I am leading my 40th HKS Reunion. Yea Class of 1984! I serve on the board of my local homeless shelter, senior center and elected twice to serve on the board of my parish. My career spans the public, private and nonprofit sectors. I now have time to serve fellow alumni.

Statement of Interest: Experience as a very active, current Alumni Board member makes me ready to serve day one! Elected to Alumni Board Executive Committee each year;  Launched first alumni-student fundraising effort in response to COVID;  Led first Alumni Board mentoring initiative;  Led Nominations and Elections Committee; and finally, led the Continuing Education Committee.

Bio: Susan Davenport has more than 30 years of public service in federal Government with a focus in intelligence, major system acquisitions, program management, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and advanced space technologies. Susan is deeply committed to helping people create and embrace advanced technology, while also providing the workforce with equal access to career-enhancing opportunities in STEM. Susan is a HKS National Security Fellow (2021) and currently serves as the Senior Advisor for Defense Innovation in the Concepts Development and Management Office for the Secretary of the Air Force.

Statement of Interest: Since graduation I’ve remained active within the community, attending HKS events and facilitating networking and career broadening opportunities for alumni. I’m running for HKS alumni board to share my passion for HKS with others and to ensure alumni have access to the gift of lifelong learning and the HKS culture.

Bio: Duriya has deep leadership experience across the public and private sectors, including as Chief Operating Officer of City of Atlanta and President of Supply Chain Innovation at Georgia Pacific. She is a Board Director of Intercontinental Hotels Group, Intercontinental Exchange, and New York Stock Exchange, as well as an Executive Coach with Exco Group. Duriya earned a BA from Hampshire College and MPA/ID from the Kennedy School at Harvard University. She is a Trustee of Agnes Scott College, Commissioner of Atlanta Housing, and on The Carter Center’s Board of Councilors.

Statement of Interest: I was born and raised in Pakistan, and my journey through HKS led me to running a major US city and serving on boards of global corporations and local non-profits. I believe representation is critical for driving access, opportunity, and results. It’s what I hope to deliver with/for HKS alums.

Bio: Joyce spent 25+ years delivering results across government and industry, focused on space, national security and defense. Initially, she worked human spaceflight operations at NASA, including lead roles as a flight controller in support of the International Space Station assembly. She pivoted to strategy consulting and ultimately managing a $700M technology development portfolio in industry. Joyce enjoys the outdoors, hiking, boating and playing tennis and volunteers in her community. She earned a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Master of Systems Engr. She lives with her teenage son and 2 dogs.

Statement of Interest: I am excited at the opportunity to serve the HKS community. As a strategic thinker, natural problem solver and connector of dots, I am committed to growing the relationship between our alums and the school. My experience in community board and volunteering have prepared me for the work ahead.

Bio: Orondaam Otto, is a distinguished social entrepreneur and African leader, who founded Slum2School Africa in 2012 to provide education for Africa's most underserved children. His organisation has impacted over 627,450 children, attracted over 32,000 volunteers and garnered global recognition and partnerships with organisations like UNICEF, Microsoft, ESPN etc. At Harvard, Otto won the Erik Yankah Award and Lucius Litteaur Awards for outstanding leadership. Otto was honoured as one of the Global 100 Most Influential People of African Descent and has an unwavering dedication to empowering Africa's youth, and leaving an indelible mark on the world.

Statement of Interest: Orondaam Otto is a young dynamic leader with a commitment to service. As a past co-chair of the African Caucus and present board member of the Black Alumni Association, he's proven his commitment to community organising. Globally recognized for his leadership, Otto's vision for positive change makes him the ideal candidate for progress.

Bio: Tom Pageler serves as the COO of Tau Motors, an advanced technology company that designs and develops next-generation products for electrification. Tom has significant experience in operations, security, and risk management. Prior to joining Tau, Tom served in numerous executive roles: CEO of Prime Core, COO of BitGo; CSO and CRO at Neustar; CRO and CISO at DocuSign; Deputy CISO for JPMorgan Chase; and Head of Risk Assessments at Visa. Prior to his private industry roles, Tom started his career as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service.

Statement of Interest: As someone who values connection and strong communication, I have been deeply involved in the HKS Alumni network. Bio: Khatuna Salukvadze, Senior Fellow at Harvard's Advanced Leadership Initiative and former Ambassador of Georgia, is a scholar and leading practitioner in diplomacy, international security, and institutional reforms. With key roles in the US-Georgia Strategic Partnership Charter, Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, advising the heads of government, and shaping national security concepts, Khatuna is a change leader. She’s selected by the UN Secretary-General’s Global Call for Leaders for peace operations and is a member of the UN Senior Women Talent Pipeline. At Harvard, Khatuna works on the advancement of women in peacekeeping and international security.

Statement of Interest: In my career spanning diplomacy, government, and academia, I’ve dedicated myself to advocacy and reshaping strategic pathways. In these times of unprecedented global challenges, the strength of the HKS alumni network has never been more important. As a Georgian, I aspire to build new bridges and bring diverse perspectives to the Board.

Bio: An active board member at ChildFund Mexico, Corina graduated with honors from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina, obtained a Fulbright Fellowship, and an MPA in 1999. Born in Argentina, she worked at the Ministry of Defense to then move to Mexico as Business Manager of Salutia.com, and Director for Health and Economic Development at the Ministry of Health. An avid volunteer, she is member of the HKS Alumni Board, and chair since 2022, she was Regional Director and current Elected Member at the HAA, and Board Member at the Fundación México en Harvard.

Statement of Interest: I will keep committing my experience to continue building a strong and fruitful relationship between our community and the School. I am focused on working so the Board can be a true representative of alumni’s voices and interests, to advance dialogue and inclusion that both harness and nourish our diversity.

Bio: Khaleel is an accomplished organizational development and empowerment consultant specializing in equitable workplace culture. He has led and advised effective executive operations as well as integrated strategic planning and delivery. His notable achievements include helping launch an all-new medical school, launching a joint Harvard-Brigham research center, and leading the planning and development of an institutional strategic plan. Khaleel is a partner at DEI Ready – an organizational coaching firm dedicated to helping organizations realize their diversity, equity, and inclusion aspirations. Khaleel holds a doctorate in higher education management from UPenn in addition to his MC/MPA from HKS.

Statement of Interest: I thought the HKS journey ended at graduation, but I continue to gain colleagues and make new meaningful friendships. I am currently a HKS alumni board member and I serve on the DEI and alumni award subcommittees. I continue to mentor current students, advise fellow alumni, and serve as a Harvard College admissions interviewer. I believe all HKS alumni can stay engaged and connected!

Bio: Dwiti Vikramaditya, VP of KIIT University and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Odisha, is leading the establishment of 20 new KISS campuses by 2030, benefiting 2 million indigenous lives. An IVLP Fellow and Fulbright Scholar, he's renowned for community projects in education, climate action, and gender equality. Vikramaditya’s MTB-MLE initiative at KISS won the UNESCO International Literacy Prize (2022) for preserving indigenous dialects. Notable for crisis responses and COVID-19 hospital setups, he raised more than $13 million for indigenous education and supported sports like Rugby and Khoko over a decade.

Statement of Interest: As an active alumni supporter, I've initiated diverse projects to empower our community. I'm spearheading a five-year effort to unite global alumni through fully funded treks to India, fostering invaluable connections. My goal on the board is to strengthen our community, boost alumni involvement, and champion impactful global endeavors.
