Dear HKS Alumni,
This is a pivotal time for Harvard Kennedy School and its future, as it charts a path towards its second century. Each of us, as alumni of the school, have a role to play in shaping that future and amplifying the leadership principles that bind us.
Over the last 90 years, the legacy of the school has always been its alumni and the impact it has powered in the world through its graduates. I welcome the class of 2026 to our alumni community that is 80,000+ strong across degree programs and Executive Education. You are joining a global network unlike any other.
To ensure that HKS continues to prepare leaders for the future, Dean Weinstein has shared a vision to bring HKS into its next century. If you haven’t had a chance to review HKS 2036: Leadership for a New Era, I encourage you to take a look. A key commitment of HKS 2036 is to foster lifelong alumni connections to HKS, and the HKS Alumni Board’s priorities will be grounded in the same goal. We will focus on supporting alumni connection and engagement via:
1. Regional conversations and convenings to connect alumni with each other and to strengthen professional engagement with the School.
2. Topical programs that engage alumni around the four imperatives that are both relevant to leading in the future and are important for the evolution of HKS:
Creating a path to public service for all
Helping government deliver for people
Harnessing technology for public good
Forging principled and effective leaders for polarized times
3. Help attract an exceptional class that is talented and diverse, from across society, sectors, and the globe.
We will continue to partner with the Dean’s Office and the Alumni Relations Office to support the School and, most important, ensure that alumni voices are heard while our community remains the School’s strongest asset.
I am honored to lead the HKS Alumni Board this year, and to work with colleagues who represent the best of our community.
