Harvard Kennedy School Professor Cornell William Brooks has been appointed to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences' Commission on Reimagining Our Economy. The commission, which includes leaders from all sectors of public life, will embark on a multi-year, non-partisan effort to develop disruptive, achievable recommendations that improve the quality of life for all Americans.

Through this effort, Brooks and his colleagues will examine the impact of historical economic policymaking in the United States, and engage in cross-country listening sessions and data collection to generate recommendations and policy interventions supporting increased opportunity and economic security for all.

Brooks is the founder and director of the William Monroe Trotter Collaborative for Social Justice at the Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership, and serves jointly as the Hauser Professor of the Practice of Nonprofit Organizations and Professor of the Practice of Public Leadership and Social Justice.
