The Growth Lab at the Center for International Development at Harvard Kennedy School has launched the ‘Viz Hub,’ a portfolio of award-winning visualization tools and interactive stories, powered by its research on economic complexity, growth diagnostics, structural transformation, diversification, skills, and more.

All projects found on the Viz Hub are built in-house by the Growth Lab’s Digital Development & Design Team, an interdisciplinary group that connects economic and policy research with best practices from information design, software development, data science, product management, and digital humanities. The tools are used by a global community of policymakers, scholars, investors, and journalists as essential resources for understanding international trade flows and discovering new growth opportunities for every country.

Work found in the Viz Hub has been featured in various media outlets, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Bloomberg, Financial Times, and the Harvard Gazette. In 2019, the Atlas of Economic Complexity was 2nd runner up for the Digital Humanities Best Data Visualization Award and was short-listed for an Information is Beautiful Award in 2018 and 2019.
