Today, current and future public leaders—from across the United States and around the globe—are graduating from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Harvard Kennedy School’s class of 2026 consists of 632 graduates. 

Graduate degrees include the Master in Public Administration, Mid-Career Master in Public Administration, Master in Public Administration in International Development, Master in Public Policy, PhD in Public Policy, PhD in Political Economy and Government, and PhD in Social Policy. (All PhD degrees are conferred by Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.) 

The breakdown by program for the HKS Class of 2026 is: 

  • Master in Public Administration (MPA) – 66
  • Master in Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) – 78
  • Mid-Career Master in Public Administration (MC/MPA) – 202
  • Master in Public Policy (MPP) – 267
  • PhD in Public Policy – 14
  • PhD in Political Economy and Government – 3
  • PhD in Social Policy – 2  

The Kennedy School’s diploma ceremony begins at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, following the Harvard University Commencement exercises. The School’s 2026 Commencement Address was delivered on Wednesday, May 27, by Zanny Minton Beddoes MPA 1992, editor-in-chief of The Economist.
