The Global LGBTQI+ Human Rights Program at the Carr-Ryan Center for Human Rights is pleased to welcome six new Faculty Affiliates from across Harvard. The new affiliates bring expertise spanning global health, law, education, public policy, human rights, negotiation, and LGBTQI+ advocacy, further strengthening the Program’s cross-school community of scholars and practitioners.
The new Faculty Affiliates are:
- Neal Baer, Senior Lecturer on Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Co-Director of the Master of Science in Media, Medicine, and Health Program
- Whitney Benns, Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School and Lecturer on Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education
- Alex Hodges, Lecturer on Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Librarian and Director of the Monroe C. Gutman Library
- Samantha Power, Anna Lindh Professor of the Practice of Global Leadership and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School and William D. Zabel ’61 Professor of Practice in Human Rights at Harvard Law School
- Francesca Purcell, Senior Lecturer on Education and Faculty Co-Chair of the Online Master’s in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education
- Joshua Rovenger, Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School and Legal Director at GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD Law)
“Since its inception, our Global LGBTQI+ Human Rights Program has enjoyed the support of a rich constellation of Harvard faculty colleagues," said Faculty Program Director Timothy Patrick McCarthy.
