Connecting changemakers for global impact—together we thrive.

The Harvard Center for International Development's Thrive Network mobilizes Harvard alumni working in international development to connect research to practice, mentor emerging leaders, and strengthen regionally grounded collaboration worldwide.

Launched in 2026 with support from Harvard Kennedy School’s Vision & Strategy initiative, the Thrive Network is a pilot model for alumni engagement that is action-oriented, measurable, and globally anchored.

Why Thrive

International development challenges are complex and deeply local. Harvard alumni are leading work in government, multilaterals, civil society, academia, and the private sector across every region of the world.

CID's Thrive Network exists to:

  • Strengthen regionally grounded alumni leadership
  • Connect research and evidence to real-world implementation
  • Support student and early-career pathways into global development
  • Build durable, cross-regional relationships rooted in shared purpose

How it Works

Thrive is anchored by a small inaugural cohort of CID Alumni Ambassadors and guided by Thrive Network Co-Leads. Together, they host informal regional alumni gatherings, facilitate mentorship and alumni–student connections, surface regional insights to inform CID programming, and strengthen collaboration across sectors and geographies.
