Andrei Munteanu headshot

Andrei Munteanu is a Postdoctoral Fellow at CID. His research uses applied microeconomics to study education and labor topics. Andrei's recent and ongoing projects include investigating the impact of early exposure to STEM courses, the relationships between school choice and student sorting, the intergenerational effects of compulsory schooling laws, the factors influencing classroom tracking, and the connection between schooling and ethnic identity choice.

Andrei earned his PhD in economics from McGill University in 2021 and is currently on leave from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) during the 2024-2025 academic year, where he is an assistant professor of economics and the academic director of UQAM's Research Data Center.
