Julius Kaliisa
GSAS
CID PhD Affiliate, Concentrations in Nuclear Energy Policy, Education Policies for Development & Refugee Education
Julius' research interest is exploring the duality of responsive education policies and Africa's sustainable development. Julius aims to revolutionize the continent's future through innovative research and impactful policies. This interest stems from his background as one who faced challenges related to education and opportunity access while growing up. Similarly, Julius' research interest stems from work experiences in the nuclear energy field, where his research findings indicated that the lack of a skilled workforce is one of the main barriers to Africa's nuclear energy transition. Therefore, with current research, Julius envisions exploring mechanisms of developing evidence-based education policies to address critical education needs for the most vulnerable, particularly in Africa, where the need is crucial due to limited resources, a high refugee population, and a lack of responsive education policies.
