Shelby Carvalho

Shelby Carvalho is a PhD candidate in government studying comparative politics and political economy with a regional focus on sub-Saharan Africa. Her dissertation project examines the political economy of refugee in- and exclusion in low- and middle-income countries. Shelby’s research focuses particularly on education and employment for refugees, as well as on the role that refugee representation in civil society can play in strengthening local inclusion.
