This commentary discusses the importance of tuberculosis preventive therapy (TPT) for migrants in high-income countries, where many tuberculosis cases arise from infections acquired before migration. While expanded preventive therapy is necessary to accelerate tuberculosis elimination, the authors argue it is not sufficient on its own. Broader strategies addressing structural barriers to care, early detection, and equitable access to health services are required to effectively reduce tuberculosis risk among migrant populations.
