This commentary explores the emerging field of planetary health ethics and proposes an initial framework for ethical principles across three domains: non-sentient nature, non-human animals, and human beings. It draws on philosophical traditions, including Japanese concepts, to argue for a shift away from human-centered ethics toward a more integrated view of humans as part of the natural world. The paper emphasizes the need for ethical frameworks to guide decision-making in addressing global environmental and health challenges.
