The Know-Do Gap Among Intrapartum Care Providers in the Dire Dawa Administration, Eastern Ethiopia

This study examines the “know-do gap” among intrapartum care providers in Eastern Ethiopia by comparing providers’ clinical knowledge with their observed delivery practices. The authors identify discrepancies between what providers know and what they implement in practice, highlighting systemic and contextual barriers to quality maternal care. Findings underscore the importance of strengthening supervision, accountability, and health system support to improve intrapartum care quality and maternal health outcomes.
