Measuring the Average Period of Production

This article develops a framework for measuring the “average period of production,” a concept related to the time structure and sequencing of production processes within economies and supply chains. Antràs and Tubdenov propose methods for quantifying how long goods remain in production networks before reaching final consumption, linking production timing to global value chains, input-output relationships, and macroeconomic dynamics.
