This study examines how tuberculosis (TB) elimination efforts in high-income countries are shaped by migration-linked transmission dynamics and the effectiveness of TB control in high-burden countries. Using epidemiological modeling, the authors demonstrate that sustained reductions in TB incidence in wealthier countries depend heavily on global progress in TB prevention and treatment. The findings underscore the interconnected nature of infectious disease control and argue for stronger international investment in TB programs in high-burden settings as a prerequisite for global elimination goals.
