Rigidities in Transportation and Supply Chain Disruptions

This paper examines how rigidities in transportation networks contribute to supply chain disruptions and economic volatility. The authors analyze frictions such as capacity constraints, adjustment costs, and logistical bottlenecks that limit the ability of transportation systems to respond flexibly to shocks.
