February 21, 2022, Opinion: "Five months after the emergency of AUKUS, straining relations between Paris, London and Canberra, France is now chair of the European Union, putting President Emmanuel Macron in a position to guide key policy areas such as the EU's Indo-Pacific strategy. On Tuesday, up to 62 foreign ministers, including from all 27 EU nations and from across the vast Asia-Pacific region but not the U.S., will gather in the French capital to discuss issues ranging from climate change to global governance and maritime security, a reminder that France and the EU have no intention of fading away from the Indo-Pacific."
