July 11, 2024, Video: "Harvard Business School's Institute for Business in Global Society (BiGS), in collaboration with the Race, Gender, and Equity initiative at HBS, spoke with Mahzarin Banaji, professor of psychology at Harvard University, at a symposium on Inequality in the Digital Age. Banaji discusses the future of social ethics in AI, her research to understand how the language we use reveals societal stereotypes, and how this research can help mitigate implicit biases. The experimental psychology lens through which Banaji sees the world, as well as her decades of research into our unconscious thoughts, helps her to understand and interpret phenomena such as survey bias, AI deep fakes, and the human tendency to act against one's stated values."
